The Dinosaurs’ Night Before Christmas

The Dinosaurs’ Night Before Christmas by Anne Muecke

Modeled after the traditional poem “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” The Dinosaur’s Night Before Christmas is a cute Christmas Eve story. Anne Muecke tells the story of a young boy who lives across from a Museum of Natural History. On Christmas Eve he looks out his window and sees movement in the dinosaur hall. He runs across the street and joins in the dinosaur holiday festivities. Nathan Hale used bright bold colors to create his illustrations for this picture book. His pictures go beyond the text. The dinosaurs appear to be scientifically accurate.

The picture book comes with a CD of Dinosaur Christmas music and words so readers can sing along. Song titles (which might be troublesome for some) include: “Hey, Duckbills!” (to the tune of “Jingle Bells”), “Hark the Pterodactyls Sing” (to the tune of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”), “The Allosaurus Chorus” (to the tune of the “Hallelujah Chorus”), and a couple other secular Christmas songs.

The Dinosaurs’ Night Before Christmas would be a cute Christmas picture book to add to your collection. Thanks for using my Amazon Affiliate link which helps support this children’s literature blog.
