Mackall, Dandi Daley. The Puzzle Club: Christmas Mystery. Illustrated by Mike Young Productions. St. Louis, MO: Concordia Publishing House, 1997.
Part of The Puzzle Club series of books, Christmas Mystery is a short story in picture book format. Dandi Daley Mackall has written a short mystery for young children to enjoy. The plot is simple and straight forward. The mysteries of the book are related – missing money, missing Nativity figurines, and a “ghost” in an old deserted mansion.
The illustrations, done by Mike Young Productions are similar in style to the Adventures in Odyssey cartoons. Most of the illustrations have a missing puzzle piece as though the illustrations themselves were a puzzle.
Christmas Mystery would be a good read aloud for first or second graders. If you’d like to add it to your collection, The Puzzle Club Christmas Mystery is available from Amazon. Thanks for using my affiliate link which helps to support this children’s literature blog.
