Christmas Cookie Day

Knudson, Tara. Christmas Cookie Day! Illustrated by Pauline Siewert. Grand Rapids: Zonderkidz, 2018.

Christmas Cookie Day by Tara Knudson

Christmas Cookie Day is a delightful board book. Tara Knudson tells the story of a mother and child making Christmas cookies to share with family and friends. She choose to use rhyming words to tell the story. Young children will soon be able to supply the rhyming words in subsequent readings of the text. I can see this book becoming a favorite of toddlers.

Pauline Siewert uses a momma bear and her cub as the main characters in the story. Their animal friends are the recipient of the cookies at the end of the story. Her bright colors and the friendly faces on the characters will appeal to young children.

The front cover is glittery which adds to its appeal. The back cover includes an easy-to-make cookie recipe. Moms and grandmas will enjoy sharing this story with their little ones as well as sharing the experience of making, eating, and sharing cookies.

I want to thank Zonderkidz for providing me with a review copy. I was not required to give a positive review. My review is my honest opinion of the book.
