Alcott, Louisa May. Christmas with Little Women. Illustrated by Russ Flint. Chicago: Children’s Press, 1986.
You can introduce a new generation of readers to Little Women by Louisa May Alcott with this picture book excerpt from the novel. The book focuses on Christmas and the girls learning to be selfless in their giving. The illustrations by Russ Flint are historically accurate and may need some explaining to today’s audience. They do complement the text well.
Since most pages are heavy on text and the text is somewhat dated, I would recommend this book for older elementary students – grades four and five.
Since this is an older book, it may be difficult to get copies. Amazon may have used copies of Christmas With Little Women (Ideals Read Aloud Storybooks) available. Thank you for using my affiliate link which helps support this children’s literature blog.
