Today is Good Friday. I wanted to share with you a picture book that is in our Easter collection. Based on the legend of the sand dollar, The Legend of the Sand Dollar: an inspirational story of hope for Easter tells the story of a young girl, Kerry, who is visiting her cousin Jack at the beach. Jack shows her a sand dollar and explains how it reminds us of Easter. The Easter Lily, the Bethlehem Star, the nail and spear holes, and the doves are all represented in the sand dollar. Kerry then shares the story with her sister Margaret. Chris Auer’s text is well-written and understandable for younger children. Rick Johnson’s beautiful paintings illustrate the text.

If you are looking for additions to your Easter collection, I recommend The Legend of the Sand Dollar: An Inspirational Story of Hope for Easter (Legend of S) which is available from Amazon. Thank you for using my affiliate link which helps support this children’s literature blog.
