My Review

Otto, Victoria. Sunny and the Cats.  Illustrated by Teguh Sulistio. 2022.

I loved the premise of the book – being friends in spite of differences. Victoria Otto takes a lesson that most little ones need to learn – it is okay to be friends with someone who is a little different. In the case of Sunny and the Cats it  is cats and dogs becoming friends. Sunny is a good example of how to be a friend – help someone in need even if they don’t like you. The story reminds me in a small way of the story of the Good Samaritan in the Bible.

Some of the illustrations are well done and portray the characters of the story well. Others didn’t really look like the animals they were supposed to portray.

There would be no problem adding Sunny and the Cats to a K-12 Christian school library. It could be added to the picture book collection.

I received a complimentary copy of Sunny and the Cats. This is my honest review.
