A solitary polar bear travels across the sea ice in pursuit of food.

My Review

While this book is labeled fiction, Lindsay Moore included a lot of non-fiction-type information. I can see this book having a use in a unit about the ocean or about the Arctic. She did quite a bit of research in preparation for both the text and the illustrations of this title. The illustrations are beautiful with blue being the predominant color. Moore used a variety of media to create her illustrations which complement the text well and show non-readers what is happening in the text.

I would love to add Sea Bear to my K-12 Christian School library. I will be including this picture book in this year’s Mock Caldecott unit.

I borrowed a copy of Sea Bear from my local library. This is my honest review.
