I See a Song

Description from Amazon

Designed to stimulate a youngster’s artistic sensibilities, this collection of shapes and colors by the author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar features a musician and his violin.

My Review

“Ladies & Gentlemen! I see a song. I paint music. I hear color. I touch the rainbow, and the deep spring in the ground. My music talks. My colors dance. Come, listen, and let your imagination see your own song.” So starts this delightful book which is wordless from that point on.

Since it is a wordless book, young children could be encouraged to talk about what they see and the story the pictures tell. The book would be a great art springboard as children could create their own artwork as they listen to music.

I would not hesitate to add I See a Song to my K-12 School library. The copy I read was purchased for use with our Art Mania camp this summer.
