The Boy and the Book is a great picture book to use for introducing book care. It could also be used to encourage little ones to learn to read. In a wordless book format author David Slater and illustrator Bob Kolar tell the story of a boy who visits a library, is frustrated at his inability to read, and tears the pages in the book.  The illustrations were digitally created.
