Alabaster’s Song

I think there is a part of all of us that would like to believe that young children have the ability to talk to the angels or hear things that adults have lost the ability to hear. Max Lucado carries this belief into the Christmas story. This picture book tells the story of a six-year-old boy who  talks to the angel on top of the family’s Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve the angel comes to life in his room and sings him the song that was sung to the shepherds that first Christmas. After opening the gifts on Christmas morning the boy hears Alabaster singing again – but his parents do not.

Max Lucado has written an endearing tale that children will enjoy. It will make adults stop and think about whether or not they have become too busy to hear the angels singing. Michael Garland illustrated the text with colorful, realistic pictures which complement the text.

Alabaster’s Song: Christmas through the Eyes of an Angel is a delightful book you will want to add to your Christmas collection. It is available from Amazon – thanks for using my affiliate link which helps to support this children’s literature blog.
