The Wyoming Territory is rife with lawlessness and disorder, something Annie Ledbetter and her parents discover when their wagon train is robbed. Seven years later, Annie settles into her lifelong dream as a teacher in the small town of Willow Falls. When she meets handsome rancher Caleb Eliason through a humorous misunderstanding, she is quickly drawn to his kind heart and charming smile.
Former outlaw Caleb Eliason embraces his chance at a fresh start. Gone are the days of robbing stagecoaches and wagon trains. When he falls in love with the new Willow Falls teacher, he doesn’t realize they’ve met before—under much different circumstances. When his past comes to light, will it put the growing love between them at risk?
Can forgiveness and redemption heal two broken hearts or will the past keep them from sharing a future?

I want to welcome Penny to the blog today. She has some great things to say about the topic of Christian Fiction
The Importance of Christian Fiction
Why is Christian fiction important?
1. It edifies Believers. It inspires and warms the spirit. Even if there are twists and turns and realistically-written topics, the reader walks away from most Christian fiction novels uplifted.
2. It gives us hope. When we read a book where the characters battle certain issues, it can give us hope that we aren’t alone in our own personal trials. In my book Love Under Construction, my main character struggled with relying on God and not worrying about the path her life had recently taken. In Forgotten Memories, characters deal with
forgiveness. Who in real life hasn’t struggled with forgiving someone? At one time or another, we’ve all wrestled with this topic. When Christian fiction highlights such topics as relying on God or forgiveness, it gives readers hope and fortitude.
3. It provides encouragement. Christian fiction tends to be uplifting, even if the topics can be difficult. My personal goal is to weave stories where my characters learn of love, loyalty, and God’s abundant grace and forgiveness. Forgotten Memories, for example, is a tender love story with a theme of new life in Christ, based on 2 Corinthians 5:17.
4. It can be used as a medium to spread the hope found in Jesus. In a world where many will pick up a novel, but won’t pick up a Bible, Christian fiction can be a powerful way to share the Gospel. Seeds can be planted in a variety of ways through an author’s written word—seeds that might lead to an eternal difference. Flip through the pages of today’s Christian fiction and one will discover that the approach to which this is accomplished varies. Some books include an outright Salvation message, while others contain mentions of God, Jesus, prayer, or church, and still others contain a mixture.
Ask any author and they will tell you it is a privilege and an honor to be able to impact lives through our writing—a privilege we take very seriously. Whether by edifying, giving hope, encouraging, or sharing the Gospel message, Christian fiction is critical. Because, in the end, there are only a few things that matter: that we made Jesus our Lord and Savior and that we spread the Gospel to the far ends of the earth, whether by the spoken or the written word.
