From #1 New York Times bestselling author Joyce Meyer, this sweetly inspiring picture book encourages children to embrace their wonderfully unique God-given identities.
Do you ever wish you looked more like your friend? Or maybe you wish you were better at something, like soccer, or spelling, or drawing. Instead of comparing yourself to others or thinking about ways you could be different, remember this incredible truth–God made you the way you are for a reason, and you are amazing! You are beautiful and talented in your own unique ways, and you are exactly who God wants you to be. In this picture book, renowned Bible teacher Joyce Meyer invites children to find the joy that comes from embracing their own unique identities and celebrating the unique identities of those around them.
Children (and adults) often struggle with self esteem and acceptance by others. Joyce Meyer addresses this in her new picture book Uniquely You. Throughout the book, she mentions the variety of ways in which each of us is unique, emphasizing that each of us is just how God wants us to be. I love that the concept of the book is based on Psalm 139:14, a verse we all need to take to heart.
Marcin Piwowarski created illustrations that will appeal to children. He did a fabulous job of complementing the text with his pictures. I think young children will enjoy looking at the book even when they don’t have someone reading it to them.
Uniquely You would be an excellent addition to a K-12 Christian school library’s picture book collection. I think it would also make a great baby gift.
I received a complimentary copy of Uniquely You. This is my honest review.
