Marshall, James. Goldilocks and the Three Bears. New York: Dial Books for Young Readers, 1988.
The story line in James Marshall’s retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears is pretty close to the traditional tale, although Goldilocks is portrayed as a naughty little girl. It is really in his illustrations that the majority of variation occurs. His art for each picture was created using ink and watercolor.
This fairy tale is a great one for a read aloud. Marshall’s illustrations are fun for the kiddos to look at while the story is read to them. It really is an entertaining picture book.
