Every year I consider it a privilege to allow the fifth graders to choose which books I will read to them at their final library visits. This year they chose some old favorites as well as some new favorites. Each of the books have previously been reviewed on this blog.
Manjhi Moves a Mountain by Danny Popovici
50 Wacky Things Animals Do by Tricia Wagner
Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
The Adventures of Beekle by Dan Santat
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
Duck for President by Doreen Cronin
A Pocket for Corduroy by Don Freeman
Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss
The Story of Babar by Jean de Brunoff
Frederick Douglass by Walter Dean Myers
The Quickest Kid in Clarksville by Pat Miller
and Gingerbread for Liberty by Mara Rockliff – which won the Land of Enchantment Award for 2018.
